This morning the Government of Columbia tabled this draft resolution on Women’s Economic Empowerment, for discussion and negotiation among Member States. Along with the ILO, the trade union delegation at CSW54 will be monitoring the negotiations on this Resolution closely. The initial reaction of the trade union group is that this is a good resolution that could help to advance women’s economic empowerment. However, trade union delegates will be examining the language today to determine whether they wish to propose any amendments.
