Event Title: Women in the Global Economy in a Time of Crisis
Workshop will bring together trade union women from around the world for a dialogue with representatives of NGOs, women's movements and government representatives. Initial brief presentations from expert panelists, the workshop will stimulate discussions on the impacts of the multiple food, financial, jobs and climate crises on women's prospects for achieving decent livelihoods.
Venue: Salvation Army International Social Justice Commission, 221 E. 52nd St. (Between 2nd and 3rd Ave.), Main Auditorium
The presentations will take place against the backdrop of Section F of the Beijing Platform of Action (BPfA), Women in the Global Economy, and will examine these multiple crises as a new and emerging issue to be addressed within the BPfA.
